The Toy Museum's collection comprises about 70,000 objects. Only about five percent of these are displayed in the museum. The rest is safely stowed away on endless rows of shelves. This is your opportunity to research the museum's hidden treasures. About 58,000 objects await you on your visit to the museum's data base for your free research.
In late 1994, the systematic, computer-assisted inventory of the museum's extensive depots in text and image was started. Supported by the State Labour Administration, The State Office for Non-State Museums in Munich and the Association of the Friends of the Toy Museum, scientific experts were able to catalogue about 90 per cent of the museum's stock by mid 2007.
The photographs were all taken purely for documentation purposes. So please do not expect glossy pictures. And please note that the data base includes mainly the holdings from the depots. The exhibits displayed in the permanent exhibition are only represented to a smaller extent (in the section wooden toys).
The team of the Nuremberg Toy Museum wishes you an informative trip through our virtual depot!
