The new historical with/ without Albrecht Dürer
Starring Harald Bierlein, Ulrike Gradl, Kerstin Radl and Irfan Taufik. Musical accompaniment: Lena and Vadym Samarsky. Text and production: Ulrich Badura, based on an idea and motifs by Franz Sonnenberger.
Nuremberg in the 15th century: of all people, the master himself is conspicuous by his absence when a time traveller pays a visit to his workshop: art professor, Friedrich Wanderer, from the 19th century wants to convert the house to a Dürer memorial and starts taking measurments of the rooms. While he does not meet the master himself, he does encounter the mistress of the house. Agnes Dürer is facing a lot of problems: her bad reputation as a miserly shrew and her servants, Susanna and Georg, who are forever at loggerheads. As if that wasn't enough, now Wanderer makes eyes at Agnes and asks her to accompany him back to the future as his muse ...
"An Honourable House": historic persons from the 15th and 19th centuries meet up with timeless evergreens from the 20th century - and all of this happens in the house where Dürer really lived. The residents brilliantly present an exciting "historical" with unusual singing interludes. True to its heading: "Everything you always wanted to know about the Dürers ...", the play promises lots of interesting tidbits about Dürer's House, served up with a light hand and a pinch of irony. A tour of a museum with a difference which will have you humming its tunes on the way home.
Duration: about 80 minutes.
