Education Programme - Educational Programme

Educational programme in the Education Forum.

General Information on the Educational Programme

The Education Forum in the Documentation Centre offers many different options of taking an in-depth look at the history of National Socialism. The focus is on exploring the contents of the permanent exhibition "Fascination and Terror", as well as the historical site of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds. The Education Forum's educational programme is directed both at adult and youth groups. The programmes can be held after the group's independent visit to the exhibition (talks on specific topics, in-depth conversations after the exhibition visit, discussions on films) or may accompany the exhibition visit (packages and study days).

All educational programmes are marked with a target group recommendation, which should be read as follows

E Adult groups
Programmes for adult groups give additional information for an in-depth look at topics illustrated by the exhibition. Any special interests should be mentioned when the programme is booked. The questions raised and the form of all programmes are geared to the specific group's previous knowledge, interests and needs.

S I Secondary I
Secondary I includes all programmes for all types of secondary schools after 8th form, right up to 10th form, as well as for youth groups covering the same age span. A wealth of materials is provided, giving the young people the opportunity to learn about history in an independent and age-appropriate way. They are stimulated to incorporate their own questions in their work. During the programme, an expert moderator will assist them in linking their findings to the present day.

S II Secondary II
Programmes for the level Secondary II of grammar and similar school types take into account that participants will normally have previous in-depth knowledge of National Socialism. Within the framework of the Education Forum's educational programmes, this knowledge will be supplemented and examined critically. The young people are given the opportunity to link their findings to the present day.
